What Goes Into Our Minds From TV and Online

I had no advance plans to write this post. God must have wanted me to put this out because He sure got my attention this afternoon.

Amy and I have mostly rested up today, after her release from the hospital yesterday. We watched a couple of movies on regular television, as in not PureFlix or NetFlix or any other service like that, and two of the commercials literally disgusted me.

After that, I was checking email and I got a message from Faithwire about a topic that was equally disgusting.

First off, the commercials.

The first one was about the topic of erectile dysfunction. During the commercial, they showed cucumbers, carrots, and zucchini squash while making references to male erections.

I told Amy, that I was glad there weren’t any of our grandchildren sitting here watching television with us. And get this, it was in the middle of the afternoon!!!

I only heard the second one from the other room, but this was one of the statements made by a female, “what to expect when you lose your virginity”.

Call me old fashioned, a prude or whatever you would like, but this is totally unacceptable. It would be wrong in the middle of the night but during afternoon television? Are you kidding me!!!!!???

So I open my email and I found one from Faithwire on this topic, Three Porn Sites Are More Popular Than Netflix, Instagram and Twitter.

I won’t even discuss that topic, but you can click on the link and Faithwire can share the story.

What I will comment on is that Satan wants us, Satan wants our children, Satan wants our grandchildren and everyone else.

He is using what we hear and what we watch for his glory.

I’ve only got one thing to say about this!!!

Satan, in the Name of Jesus, get behind us through the help of the Holy Spirit.

This Comes From A Civilized Nation???

I found the following article at Breitbart while I was researching a story about abortion being the Number 1 cause of death in the world. The original story I planned to write on can be found by clicking here: Abortion was the number one cause of death worldwide in 2018, with more than 41 million children killed before birth, Worldometers reports.

I couldn’t let the story below go without commenting on it, but I really have no idea where to begin. I am angry, confused, appalled, and sad. I could take each of those topics and talk at length on why I have those feelings, but I want to look at the real reason for abortion being the number one cause of death AND the totally outrageous remarks made in the article that follows.

THE REASON IS SATAN and EVIL IS REAL.

Ephesians 6 –  10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood,but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Put on the “full armor of God” and get ready! It’s easy to be blind-sided by Satan while being angry at an abortionist who says things that should never come from the mouth of a human!

Abortionist: ‘God Performs Way More Abortions than I Do’

In the midst of an ongoing Twitter war, an American abortionist said that God performs “way more” abortions than she does, suggesting that miscarriages are God’s abortions.

Responding to a Twitter comment last week wondering aloud of what “God thinks” of her profession, Utah abortionist Leah Torres said, “God performs way more abortions than I do, so there’s that.”

Attributing every natural death to God’s direct intervention could seem a bit much, and numerous social media users took issue with Dr. Torres’ logic. It would seem to suggest — some argued — that anyone who kills another human being at any time is doing no more than God does when people die of cancer or heart failure.

Dr. Torres is vocal in her defense of abortion as healthcare, even when it is used as birth control, and feels no need to apologize for what she does.

“Abortion is used as birth prevention. I feel fine about that,” she tweeted last week.

Last March, however, Torres got particularly detailed in her description of the abortion procedure, describing how she cuts babies’ vocal cords so they have no chance to scream.

“I transect the cord 1st so there’s really no opportunity, if they’re even far enough along to have a larynx,” she wrote. The tweet has since been deleted, presumably by its author.

As Breitbart News reported earlier this week, abortion was the number one cause of death worldwide in 2018, with more than 41 million children killed before birth in the course of the year.

As of December 31, 41.9 million infants had died at the hands of abortionists, whereas 8.2 million people died from cancer, 5 million from smoking, and 1.7 million from HIV/AIDS.

Freed American Pastor Andrew Brunson Prays for President Trump

The story below from Fox News tells details, but we want to say just how awesome this scene is and the fact that it happened in the Oval Office of the White House absolutely thrills us.

Freed American pastor Andrew Brunson met and prayed with President Trump in the Oval Office Saturday, thanking him for having “really fought for us” — a day after his release from house arrest in Turkey.

Brunson, from North Carolina, arrived in the U.S. earlier Saturday after stopping in Germany on Friday. Brunson was imprisoned in October 2016 due to his alleged ties to an outlawed group as part of a crackdown on a failed coup in Turkey against President Recep Erdogan’s government. A Turkish judge on Friday ordered him freed from house arrest on Friday after sentencing him to time served on terror and treason charges.

Brunson thanked Trump in the Oval Office, saying “you really fought for us, unusually so, from the time you took office.” He also thanked members of Congress on both sides of the aisle who had worked for his release.

“We’re so grateful to so many people in Congress who stood with us, who prayed for us, who fought for us,” he said.

In a dramatic moment, Brunson knelt down and prayed with the President — asking God for “supernatural wisdom to accomplish all the plans you have for this country and for him.”

In his remarks, Trump said it was a “great honor” to have Brunson in the White House and thanked a number of lawmakers and members of the Cabinet for their assistance in securing Bunson’s release.

Hell – Real or Not???

The article caught the attention of evangelist Franklin Graham who says Hell isn’t a concept but a “reality.” He says it’s important not to doubt it because it’s the reason Jesus died on a cross to save us from our sins.

“Jesus spoke about it a great deal. The Bible describes it as a ‘blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’ It will not change with the maturing of human culture, or anything else we might dream up. Hell is a very real place that will be the eternal destination of souls who reject the forgiveness and salvation that a loving God offers us through His Son, Jesus Christ,” Graham writes in a Facebook post.

Latest Scandal Should Bring The Resignation of Pope Francis

Let me begin by saying that I am not Catholic, and there are many things about the Catholic Church I do not know or understand.  I would like to point out that the Ed Boston Podcast has had numerous interviews with people involved with the Catholic Church and EWTN. I have always enjoyed those interviews and greatly respect the people who are “friends of the podcast” from EWTN.

However, many non-Christians, atheists, and others place controversies like I will be talking about below with all believers in Jesus Christ. For that reason, I feel like I should address this topic.

To support my previous statement, a well-known atheist group is placing a full-page ad in the New York Times with the headline reading:  “It’s time to consider quitting the Catholic Church.”

The latest scandal that has besieged the Catholic Church is part of a long list of issues that have happened under Pope Francis since he was elected to his position in 2013.  While most of the list are things he has said and believes, this scandal is mostly about crimes committed before he became Pope. It’s the way he has handled this situation that has been the issue. I will address the current scandal a little later in this editorial.

There are 5 issues listed here and links to each topic. In my opinion, Pope Francis is on the wrong side of each of these issues.

2. Stop being “obsessed” with abortion and gay marriage

3. Everyone can go to heaven including atheists

4. Pope Francis shows support for same-sex unions?

5. Hell does not exist

Now the current scandal as published by the BBC:

A Church-commissioned report in 2004 said more than 4,000 US Roman Catholic priests had faced sexual abuse allegations in the last 50 years, in cases involving more than 10,000 children – mostly boys.

A 2009 report found that sexual and psychological abuse was “endemic” in Catholic-run industrial schools and orphanages in Ireland for most of the 20th Century.

A five-year Australian inquiry in 2017 found that “tens of thousands of children” were sexually abused in Australian institutions over decades, including churches, schools and sports clubs.

What about recent cases?

How has the Church responded?

Pope Francis called for “decisive action” when he was elected in 2013, but critics say he has not done enough to hold to account bishops who allegedly covered up abuse.

Many are calling for the resignation of Pope Francis, but it appears that there is no plan to do so.

In an article at Yahoo.com, this was reported:

Pope Francis has no intention of stepping down as he fights accusations that he protected a former archbishop accused of sexual abuse, Italian news agency ANSA reported, citing “close associates” of the pope.

As the founder and leader of the Ed Boston Podcast Network, let me add my name to the list of those who believe that enough is enough and that Pope Francis needs to resign.
