Pastor Ed On the Repeal of Roe v Wade

Today is a historic day for ALL Americans. June 24, 2022, will go down in history as the date the Supreme Court struck down/repealed the January 22, 1973, decision known as Roe V Wade, which gave women in the United States a fundamental right to choose whether to have abortions without excessive government restriction and striking down a Texas’s abortion ban as unconstitutional. You are more than likely rejoicing about the decision or extremely angry about it.

I’ve received so many texts, emails, and messages about what went down today, that I feel led to respond with my thoughts about what today means for our country.

My first thought is that we need to pray about this subject, and the events that are likely to go down in the days and weeks ahead.

That said………

Believing every child has the right to life inside or outside of the womb, I believe that one of the biggest travesties of my lifetime is that 63,000,000 + babies have been legally murdered in the United States.

What happens next?

The abortion laws will go back to the states and not the federal government. That’s the simple answer. However, along with that answer comes the question of how do people react?

I would hope that those who are on the pro-life side of the occasion would behave in a Christ-like manner. There are many things left to do to make sure that babies are safe in their mother’s womb. Being antagonistic or causing unnecessary strife makes the things that still need to happen even more difficult.

For those of you who fall on the opposite side of how I believe, I would encourage you to speak out against those who plan on or have been committing violent acts since the leaked news of today’s events.

You might say, but your side did horrible things in the years past. My reply to that would be that I have always been against those who choose to do violent acts in situations like this. Violence and vandalism have no place no matter what side of any equation there may be.

I would also ask that if you haven’t done so, please explore your local crises pregnancy centers. You may be surprised at what amazing work that is taking place for those who are in crisis.

Today, I am elated that this horrible black eye on our country has started to be blotted out. There is much work left to do, and without God’s intervention, there will be some serious conflicts taking place.

Stuart Varney Opinion Piece on Trump and National Day of Prayer

We’ve made a conscious decision to not post as much about politics as we have in the past. The nation is more politically divided than any time in recent memory and maybe in the entire history of our great nation.

President Trump is one of if not the biggest topics when it comes to that division. It seems that people either love him or hate him and there’s not much in between the two.

We consider ourselves Christian Conservatives, so it shouldn’t be a surprise,  that we are supporters of the President. Is he perfect? Who is? Does he say and do things that we wish he didn’t? Absolutely!!!

All that said, many people would laugh when the topic of President Trump and Christian values are used in the same sentence. That’s exactly why we love the opinion piece from Stuart Varney that is below.

When laughing off the President’s faith, let us remind you of the scripture in John 8 that says:

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Stuart Varney: Trump doesn’t wear his religion on his sleeve, National Day of Prayer ceremony was a revelation

Thursday morning, President Trump appeared in the Rose Garden for the National Day of Prayer.  It was anything but a “normal” religious event. It wasn’t a somber, restrained affair. It was a joyous call for unity, at a time when unity is vitally needed. It was a very different spiritual occasion.

For me the “highlight,” if I may call it that, was the appearance of Rabbi Yisroel Goldstein. The president called him to the podium and he told the story of the Poway synagogue shooting where he had faced the killer.

He said, “you need to stand tall, to stand fast, and to do what it takes to change the world.” No pieties there: reality! None of this “our thoughts and prayers are with you.” That’s a platitude. Stand up. Face down hate. That’s what the rabbi said. That struck a chord: Christians, Jews, Muslims, Sikhs, and Hindus: all in the audience, and all understood the importance of what Rabbi Goldstein had said.

We also discovered that this president begins all cabinet meetings with a prayer. We didn’t know that. We’d never been told. Mr. Trump clearly doesn’t wear his religion on his sleeve. I’m not going to make a big deal out of this but we saw a side of the president that most of us didn’t know.

And this is the side of the president the media does not show.

What a shame: the prayer event was extraordinary. And timely, following the slaughter of Muslims in New Zealand, Christians in Sri Lanka, Jews in Pittsburgh and Poway. A call to spiritual unity that was exactly what was needed, and that’s exactly what President Trump delivered.

This Comes From A Civilized Nation???

I found the following article at Breitbart while I was researching a story about abortion being the Number 1 cause of death in the world. The original story I planned to write on can be found by clicking here: Abortion was the number one cause of death worldwide in 2018, with more than 41 million children killed before birth, Worldometers reports.

I couldn’t let the story below go without commenting on it, but I really have no idea where to begin. I am angry, confused, appalled, and sad. I could take each of those topics and talk at length on why I have those feelings, but I want to look at the real reason for abortion being the number one cause of death AND the totally outrageous remarks made in the article that follows.

THE REASON IS SATAN and EVIL IS REAL.

Ephesians 6 –  10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Put on the “full armor of God” and get ready! It’s easy to be blind-sided by Satan while being angry at an abortionist who says things that should never come from the mouth of a human!

Abortionist: ‘God Performs Way More Abortions than I Do’

by Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.

In the midst of an ongoing Twitter war, an American abortionist said that God performs “way more” abortions than she does, suggesting that miscarriages are God’s abortions.

Responding to a Twitter comment last week wondering aloud of what “God thinks” of her profession, Utah abortionist Leah Torres said, “God performs way more abortions than I do, so there’s that.”

Attributing every natural death to God’s direct intervention could seem a bit much, and numerous social media users took issue with Dr. Torres’ logic. It would seem to suggest — some argued — that anyone who kills another human being at any time is doing no more than God does when people die of cancer or heart failure.

Dr. Torres is vocal in her defense of abortion as healthcare, even when it is used as birth control, and feels no need to apologize for what she does.

“Abortion is used as birth prevention. I feel fine about that,” she tweeted last week.

Last March, however, Torres got particularly detailed in her description of the abortion procedure, describing how she cuts babies’ vocal cords so they have no chance to scream.

“I transect the cord 1st so there’s really no opportunity, if they’re even far enough along to have a larynx,” she wrote. The tweet has since been deleted, presumably by its author.

As Breitbart News reported earlier this week, abortion was the number one cause of death worldwide in 2018, with more than 41 million children killed before birth in the course of the year.

As of December 31, 41.9 million infants had died at the hands of abortionists, whereas 8.2 million people died from cancer, 5 million from smoking, and 1.7 million from HIV/AIDS.
