45th Annual March for Life

Warm weather greets marchers at the 45th annual March for Life

By Christine Rousselle

They came from across the country and the globe to Washington, DC. for one purpose: to stand in solidarity with unborn children.

With a quite a few groups donned in matching hats and scarves – quickly rendered unnecessary due to the unseasonably warm January day – and clutching some innovative signs, the 45th annual March for Life went off without a hitch Jan. 19.

While the rally made history as President Donald Trump became the first sitting president to address the march via livestream video, the individual marchers to whom EWTN News spoke over the course of the day were more concerned with the need to protect the unborn and to promote the dignity of life.

And they were big fans of the nice weather, of course.

The crowd was overwhelmingly young, and large groups from all over the country were spotted on the National Mall. A group of around 400 from Baton Rouge, La., made an impressive entrance, and the wave of white hats continued as far as the eye could see.

The University of Mary had a three-bus contingent of about 150 students, faculty, and staff, who made the 30-hour car ride to Washington, D.C from Bismarck. The prospect of a long bus ride didn’t sway UMary junior Mary Kampa, who was returning to DC for her second March for Life in a row.

What Goes Into Our Minds From TV and Online

I had no advance plans to write this post. God must have wanted me to put this out because He sure got my attention this afternoon.

Amy and I have mostly rested up today, after her release from the hospital yesterday. We watched a couple of movies on regular television, as in not PureFlix or NetFlix or any other service like that, and two of the commercials literally disgusted me.

After that, I was checking email and I got a message from Faithwire about a topic that was equally disgusting.

First off, the commercials.

The first one was about the topic of erectile dysfunction. During the commercial, they showed cucumbers, carrots, and zucchini squash while making references to male erections.

I told Amy, that I was glad there weren’t any of our grandchildren sitting here watching television with us. And get this, it was in the middle of the afternoon!!!

I only heard the second one from the other room, but this was one of the statements made by a female, “what to expect when you lose your virginity”.

Call me old fashioned, a prude or whatever you would like, but this is totally unacceptable. It would be wrong in the middle of the night but during afternoon television? Are you kidding me!!!!!???

So I open my email and I found one from Faithwire on this topic, Three Porn Sites Are More Popular Than Netflix, Instagram and Twitter.

I won’t even discuss that topic, but you can click on the link and Faithwire can share the story.

What I will comment on is that Satan wants us, Satan wants our children, Satan wants our grandchildren and everyone else.

He is using what we hear and what we watch for his glory.

I’ve only got one thing to say about this!!!

Satan, in the Name of Jesus, get behind us through the help of the Holy Spirit.

Update on Amy’s Medical Condition

Many of you may have noticed that the number of posts, podcasts, and other things coming from us have gone down since 2019 rolled around.

Since Thursday, December 27th our lives have been pretty crazy and Amy has had several medical experiences she would rather have skipped.

This story actually goes all the way back to September 7th, when she had a pacemaker implanted. The results of this procedure were, well in a word, horrible. Constant pain, sensitivity, pacemaker moving around, etc etc and that leads up to December 27th.

After consulting with a different cardiac surgeon, the decision to do a pacemaker revision was made. The procedure was scheduled at 2:00 pm, December 27th (times is important to the overall story).

About ten minutes before 2, the new cardiac surgeon (who we love) came in, asked the appropriate questions prior to surgery and told us that he would see Amy in the operating room shortly.

2 o’clock passed, then 3 o’clock passed, 4 o’clock passed and shortly after that, the surgeon walks in the room and closes the door behind him.

The doctor was obviously shaken up and said the following, “The procedure prior to yours went horribly wrong and I am in no shape physically or mentally to do your procedure.” He followed that up by apologizing over and over.

He personally set up the new procedure to be done on Monday.

Amy and I recorded a podcast discussing this entire scenario. Unfortunately, there was an issue with background noise in the audio, and we couldn’t post the podcast.

The reason we wanted to share that part of the story is that it shows just how we never sure what tomorrow holds. We are pretty certain from the doctor’s reaction, that the person having the procedure prior to Amy didn’t make it.

It’s pretty certain that when that person went to the hospital that day, they didn’t think their time had come. The procedures that day were done in an outpatient area which would imply that it wasn’t a high-risk item being done.

We are more than certain that the surgeon didn’t anticipate the outcome that happened. He had just visited Amy a few minutes prior to starting and his mood was good and cheerful, exactly the opposite of when he returned with the bad news.

The Bible teaches us that we aren’t promised tomorrow and the person in this story is a real life testimony of that fact.

Now on to the next part of this long report.

The procedure for Amy was done on Monday, December 31st and everything went fine. It was planned that she would spend one night and that’s what happened. The doctor said everything went as he anticipated.

Things were going well until Amy woke up Friday morning. Her left arm was swollen, all the way down to the tips of her fingers. A trip to the Emergency Room showed that Amy had a large blood clot and other small ones in her left arm that was blocking the flow of blood.

After an injection of a blood thinner, and an adjustment to the blood thinner she has been on since her stroke in February of 2017, we brought her home with the assurance that it may take a while for the clots to disperse but that the clot shouldn’t get any larger.

Sunday morning when we got up for church, her left arm and hand were swollen even larger than they had been. Another trip to the ER and the ultrasound showed that the clot had indeed grown larger.

She was admitted to the hospital Sunday evening with an IV blood thinner drip used to control the problem. 3 nights in the hospital and Amy is now back home. She has to give herself blood thinner injections twice a day for 3 months.

Her return to work has been set back at least a week, but she is now recuperating at home and looking forward to getting back into a routine.

We certainly appreciate all the prayers from all over the country that has gone out on Amy’s behalf. We are looking forward to an amazing 2019, even if it has started with a little bump in the road.

This Comes From A Civilized Nation???

I found the following article at Breitbart while I was researching a story about abortion being the Number 1 cause of death in the world. The original story I planned to write on can be found by clicking here: Abortion was the number one cause of death worldwide in 2018, with more than 41 million children killed before birth, Worldometers reports.

I couldn’t let the story below go without commenting on it, but I really have no idea where to begin. I am angry, confused, appalled, and sad. I could take each of those topics and talk at length on why I have those feelings, but I want to look at the real reason for abortion being the number one cause of death AND the totally outrageous remarks made in the article that follows.

THE REASON IS SATAN and EVIL IS REAL.

Ephesians 6 –  10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Put on the “full armor of God” and get ready! It’s easy to be blind-sided by Satan while being angry at an abortionist who says things that should never come from the mouth of a human!

Abortionist: ‘God Performs Way More Abortions than I Do’

by Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.

In the midst of an ongoing Twitter war, an American abortionist said that God performs “way more” abortions than she does, suggesting that miscarriages are God’s abortions.

Responding to a Twitter comment last week wondering aloud of what “God thinks” of her profession, Utah abortionist Leah Torres said, “God performs way more abortions than I do, so there’s that.”

Attributing every natural death to God’s direct intervention could seem a bit much, and numerous social media users took issue with Dr. Torres’ logic. It would seem to suggest — some argued — that anyone who kills another human being at any time is doing no more than God does when people die of cancer or heart failure.

Dr. Torres is vocal in her defense of abortion as healthcare, even when it is used as birth control, and feels no need to apologize for what she does.

“Abortion is used as birth prevention. I feel fine about that,” she tweeted last week.

Last March, however, Torres got particularly detailed in her description of the abortion procedure, describing how she cuts babies’ vocal cords so they have no chance to scream.

“I transect the cord 1st so there’s really no opportunity, if they’re even far enough along to have a larynx,” she wrote. The tweet has since been deleted, presumably by its author.

As Breitbart News reported earlier this week, abortion was the number one cause of death worldwide in 2018, with more than 41 million children killed before birth in the course of the year.

As of December 31, 41.9 million infants had died at the hands of abortionists, whereas 8.2 million people died from cancer, 5 million from smoking, and 1.7 million from HIV/AIDS.

Merry Christmas from The Ed Boston Podcast

Amy and I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Our family, friends, and followers are the reason we do this ministry, and we want to remind each of you why we celebrate Christmas.

First, here is the link to our Christmas Special 2018, and then below is the real reason for the season, from Luke Chapter 2.

Merry Christmas to all,

Pastor Ed Boston

Luke 2

The Birth of Jesus

In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. (This was the first census that took place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.) And everyone went to their own town to register.

So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven,
and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.”

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.”

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

21 On the eighth day, when it was time to circumcise the child, he was named Jesus, the name the angel had given him before he was conceived.
