Only two words to describe December 7, 1941 (80 years ago today).
NEVER
FORGET
2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
On Monday, December 6, 2021, Amy, and I went to Sam’s Club on a cold windy afternoon. As we walked in, a short stocky older gentleman got Amy’s attention and said that she must be a tough lady. Amy only had on a short sleeve t-shirt and this man showed us that he had on 2 sweatshirts and a coat.
We went our own separate ways, and at this point, we probably wouldn’t have ever thought of this man again. However, about 15 minutes later we saw the man again standing in front of a display of Kraft Mac & Cheese. The man said to Amy, you are just the person I have a question for. What kind of cheese would you use to add extra cheese for more flavor?
Amy then gave her advice and I said to the man you don’t have a clue, but you just asked a person whose favorite food in the world is cheese. He said he told us that Amy was just the person to answer his question. He then said God crosses our paths for a reason.
Amy then said you didn’t know you were talking to a preacher and his wife. He shook my hand and Amy started explaining that we were at Sam’s buying groceries for a meal that our home church, The Father’s House would be preparing and delivering to about 25 people the next day.
At that time, the man reached into his pocket and grabbed some cash. He then handed me a $20 bill and asked if that would help us for the meal. We thanked and told him how grateful we were.
As we started to make our way down the next isle, the man called out again and said to us that God spoken to him and said that this man doesn’t believe as much as he should.
After asking him to repeat himself, I asked him why he thought God would say that to him. His reply was I’m not sure. I said we will pray that God shows you clearly what He means and as a matter of fact, let us pray for you right now.
Amy and I stood there in the aisle of Sam’s Club and laid hands on him and prayed that God would reveal to this gentleman what he needed to know.
We said our goodbyes and the man was totally gone. We didn’t see him again and actually had no indication (other than the $20 bill he gave us) that he even existed.
Amy and I walked a few steps down the aisle and then looked at each other and nearly in unison said do you think he was an Angel? Neither of us know for certain what had just taken place, but we hope we did ok in the eyes of the Lord – Angel or not.

As Amy and I continue with our online ministry efforts, we have started an in-home church called The Father’s House in 2021. As with most all ministry work, it takes a significant amount of money to make things run.
We have been in the process of making our organization an “official” (you know, the government gets involved in things) recognized entity. Doing so is not cheap, and we still have expenses coming in for that. Along with regular operating expenses, meeting our budget is difficult, but God has always blessed us in having our bills paid.
Amy nor I neither one takes any compensation from the church or ministry. Every dollar we bring in from tithes, offerings or gifts goes directly back into the work we do for God’s Kingdom.
First, we ask you to pray for all of our different ministry efforts. We have seen souls won, lives changed, and healing miracles, all that only OUR GOD can do. Then, we ask if you would also prayerfully consider giving a financial blessing to the ministry God has called us to. You can give by clicking this link:

As the nation awaits the Rittenhouse verdict, Alveda King calls for prayers, wisdom and nonviolent unity with the following statement:
Whenever emotions are high, and threats of racial unrest mount, those who believe in prayer must rise to the occasion. That time is now. In Georgia, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma, there are situations that are simmering, causing fear, anger, and confusion. These situations should be answered with wisdom and non-violence. This is an urgent clarion call to leaders and communities at large to pray and unify with love and human dignity as we respond to our concerns with nonviolent action.
As Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said: ‘Hate begets hate; violence begets violence; toughness begets a greater toughness. We must meet the forces of hate with the power of love.’
In Mark 4:39, Jesus calmed the storm and commanded, ‘Peace, be still.’ We must pray together for that same peace to calm the storm, so that our nation can begin to heal and come together as one nation under God.
As one blood, one human race, we CAN resolve our differences peacefully.

| Radical Islamic militias are targeting Christians for slaughter all across Africa just because of their faith. In Nigeria, more than 120 Christian kids were kidnapped earlier this year from a Baptist school. Many have now been freed or escaped; but according to reports, dozens more helpless children are still being held for ransom by radical Islamic gunmen. Unfortunately, this has become a way of life in Nigeria. Christian teens are abducted and forced into slavery. Christian pastors have been beheaded. This should outrage the entire world. But too few are speaking up. Then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo placed Nigeria on a persecution watchlist – something he credited the ACLJ with helping achieve. Now he is working with us as ACLJ Senior Counsel for Global Affairs, demanding international intervention to stop the bloodshed before it’s too late. I delivered a critical oral intervention to the U.N. Human Rights Council to demand protection for Nigeria’s Christians. We’ve made 45 submissions to the U.N. this year, condemning persecution in some of the worst persecuting nations, like Nigeria – demanding an end to this evil. And we’re already preparing our next filings. We can help SAVE CHRISTIAN LIVES. But we face a daunting challenge. We urgently need YOU. Sign Our Petition: Save Dying Christians NOW. We praise God that millions of Operation Christmas Child shoebox gifts are currently being packed all across the country! After National Collection Week, Nov. 15-22, they will be sent to eight U.S. processing centers for inspection before being shipped around the world to children in need.
The mammoth task requires thousands of volunteers in late November and December. Will you be one of them? There is an urgent need for more volunteers at our nearby Aurora location. You can come individually or bring a busload from your church or community. Either way, you’ll play an integral role in bringing great joy and the Good News of Jesus Christ to millions of boys and girls!
Aurora Processing Center
800 N. Commerce Street
Aurora, IL 60504
Volunteering is great fun, but we also take your health and safety seriously. We will follow local COVID-19 guidelines at each of our processing centers.
Don’t delay.
Mental Health is an issue near to the heart of Pastor Ed Boston. Coming from a family where issues with depression and anxiety have been inherited in at least 5 generations, he believes that the Christian community as a whole needs to learn more about this topic. The days where we told people to just pull their boots up and move on or that you wouldn’t have issues like this if you had faith in God need to be a thing of the past.
While he is normally not a big supporter of the WHO (World Health Organization), Pastor Ed says that not addressing this issue would be negligent on his part.
As part of the buildup to Sunday’s World Mental Health Day, each day Pastor Ed is posting a YouTube video he found relating to this topic. The first one is this.
Read more about World Mental Health Day below.
World Mental Health Day was celebrated for the first time on October 10, 1992, at the initiative of Deputy Secretary General Richard Hunter. Up until 1994, the day had no specific theme other than general promoting mental health advocacy and educating the public.
In 1994 World Mental Health Day was celebrated with a theme for the first time at the suggestion of then Secretary General Eugene Brody. The theme was “Improving the Quality of Mental Health Services throughout the World”.
World Mental Health Day is supported by WHO through raising awareness on mental health issues using its strong relationships with the Ministries of health and civil society organizations across the globe. WHO also supports with developing technical and communication material.
MORE HISTORY ON WORLD MENTAL HEALTH DAY
World Mental Health Day was first observed on October 10, 1992. It was created by then-Deputy Secretary-General of the World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH), American psychiatrist Richard Hunter, as an annual activity of that NGO, consisting of professionals, paraprofessionals and interested individuals devoted to advocacy, education and prevention of mental disorders. Since then, the Day has been commemorated every year on October 10 by the UN, civil society groups and individuals around the world. The first three years of World Mental Health Day were a two-hour telecast broadcasted globally from the United States information agency satellite system in Tallahassee, Florida, with board members able to participate from other countries, like Australia, Chile, England, Zambia, Geneva and Mexico City. During the first broadcast, people from Swaziland called in, and viewed the program, unannounced and unanticipated, proving to WFMH leaders that their initiative was far-reaching and significant.
The aims of the celebration have always been to promote mental health advocacy and educate the public on relevant issues in mental health. The first theme was identified in 1994, called, “Improving the Quality of Mental Health Services throughout the World.” Feedback reports came in from 27 countries, especially Australia and England, leading to more excitement about the project, that within the next three years became a valuable occasion for nations, NGOs, and all people around the world, to learn about and commit to improving, mental health care and access for everyone.
Since 1994, the yearly themes have covered a wide range of topics, e.g., women, children, human rights, chronic physical illnesses and diversity. This year’s theme was “Mental Health for All Greater Investment – Greater Access.” (WFMH, 2020). The World Health Organization (WHO) has also sponsored the events every year, such as “Dignity in Mental Health” in 2015, “Psychological First Aid” in 2016 “Mental Health in the Workplace” in 2017, “Young People and Mental Health are Changing” in 2018 and “Focus on Suicide Prevention” in 2019.
