Hebrews 13:2
2 Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it.
On Monday, December 6, 2021, Amy, and I went to Sam’s Club on a cold windy afternoon. As we walked in, a short stocky older gentleman got Amy’s attention and said that she must be a tough lady. Amy only had on a short sleeve t-shirt and this man showed us that he had on 2 sweatshirts and a coat.
We went our own separate ways, and at this point, we probably wouldn’t have ever thought of this man again. However, about 15 minutes later we saw the man again standing in front of a display of Kraft Mac & Cheese. The man said to Amy, you are just the person I have a question for. What kind of cheese would you use to add extra cheese for more flavor?
Amy then gave her advice and I said to the man you don’t have a clue, but you just asked a person whose favorite food in the world is cheese. He said he told us that Amy was just the person to answer his question. He then said God crosses our paths for a reason.
Amy then said you didn’t know you were talking to a preacher and his wife. He shook my hand and Amy started explaining that we were at Sam’s buying groceries for a meal that our home church, The Father’s House would be preparing and delivering to about 25 people the next day.
At that time, the man reached into his pocket and grabbed some cash. He then handed me a $20 bill and asked if that would help us for the meal. We thanked and told him how grateful we were.
As we started to make our way down the next isle, the man called out again and said to us that God spoken to him and said that this man doesn’t believe as much as he should.
After asking him to repeat himself, I asked him why he thought God would say that to him. His reply was I’m not sure. I said we will pray that God shows you clearly what He means and as a matter of fact, let us pray for you right now.
Amy and I stood there in the aisle of Sam’s Club and laid hands on him and prayed that God would reveal to this gentleman what he needed to know.
We said our goodbyes and the man was totally gone. We didn’t see him again and actually had no indication (other than the $20 bill he gave us) that he even existed.
Amy and I walked a few steps down the aisle and then looked at each other and nearly in unison said do you think he was an Angel? Neither of us know for certain what had just taken place, but we hope we did ok in the eyes of the Lord – Angel or not.
