PITTSBURGH, PA, UNITED STATES, June 24, 2019  —

“Nothing short of phenomenally top-notch!” – Jamsphere

“A true master of the six string like the guitar gods of old” – NeuFutur

“He plays like a living legend” – IndieBandGuru

2019 is shaping up as a highlight reel-type year for Christian guitar virtuoso Brady Novotny. His debut album was released in February, and it’s won the praises of critics around the globe. His first single, “Redemption’s Cry” was a staple on AC and rock stations this spring, charting both nationally and internationally. He appeared on Fox and ABC TV, as well as taking up a half page in Guitar Player Magazine. Brady also opened for one of his guitar heroes, Paul Gilbert, and he will be opening for All Sons & Daughters member, David Leonard on September 19th.  At only 6 months into the year, what more could the mild-mannered guitarist from Pittsburgh ask for?

It was awesome to see ‘Passions’ charting!”

— Brady Novotny

This past Saturday, that question was answered when Brady’s latest single and video, “Passions Collide” reached #3 on the iTunes Rock Songs chart in Canada. The flamenco-influenced track was beat out only by the new Freddie Mercury single and Queen’s classic, “Bohemian Rhapsody.” Novotny came in ahead of time-tested favorites by Journey, AC/DC, Fleetwood Mac and a host of household names.

A man of few words, Novotny said, “It was awesome to see ‘Passions’ charting!’

“Passions Collide” was produced by Pittsburgh favorite son, David Granati of the Granati Bros and G-Force.

Listen To Brennley Brown Cover Christian Classic “I Wish We’d All Been Ready”

Pastor Greg Laurie has been in a  message series about the 1970s Jesus Revolution based on his latest book of the same name. In the sermon series Pastor Laurie has talked about many different aspects of the last great religious movement in America including the music from that era. Last week former Voice contestant Brennley Brown performed a cover of a popular song by legendary contemporary Christian artist Larry Norman called “I wish we’d all Been Ready”. The song has been covered by many artists over the years but we’re sure you’ve never heard of a version with such conviction as Brennley Brown’s. The lyrics to the song are based on the Christian belief of the rapture.

Lyrics

Life was filled with guns and war
And everyone got trampled on the floor
I wish we’d all been ready
Children died, the days grew cold
A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold
I wish we’d all been ready
There’s no time to change your mind
The Son has come and you’ve been left behind

A man and wife asleep in bed
She hears a noise and turns her head, he’s gone
I wish we’d all be ready
Two men walking up a hill
One disappears and one’s left standing still
I wish we’d all been ready
There’s no time to change your mind
The Son has come and you’ve been left behind

Life was filled with guns and war
And everyone got trampled on the floor
I wish we’d all been ready
Children died, the days grew cold
A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold
I wish we’d all been ready
There’s no time to change your mind
How could you have been so blind
The Father spoke, the demons dined
The Son has come and you’ve been left behind

Michael W. Smith Sings “Friends” at Funeral for President George H.W. Bush

In one of several tear-jerking moments during the funeral for President George H.W. Bush, Christian singer Michael W. Smith sang his signature song “Friends”.  The performance video is at the bottom of the page, and a complete story from Trevor Decker.com is below.

Christian Artist Michael W. Smith Performs at George H.W. Bush Funeral

Contemporary Christian music legend Michael W. Smith performed at the funeral of former President George H.W. Bush on Wednesday. Smith whose career spans decades is a pioneer in Christian music and a friend of the Bush family for decades. He performed his song “Friends” which emphasizes trust in God’s will for your life even when you don’t understand it. The song has often been used at funerals. Smith released the song which he co-wrote with his wife in 1987. The song was written for a friend who was moving away to serve in ministry.

Smith recalled seeing President Bush for the last time a mere three months before he passed away.

“As we were leaving, we just gave him a hug and said ‘We love you. We love you, so good to see you,” Smith told CBN News. “And about the time we were leaving, he put his finger in the air and had that sparkle in his eyes and said: ‘Friends are friends forever.’ Deb and I walked out of there thinking this might be the last time that we see him.”
